Alibabed : the name of the « liste BDE » that won the 2020 campaign, and whose members form the current BDE.
BDE : “Bureau des Elèves”, basically the student council that takes care of organising and dynamising student life on campus. Lola, Lili, João and Paul are its members responsible for the integration of foreign students
BDS : Bureau des Sports, offers a wide range of sports for Télécom students, as well as organising tournaments within the school or with other schools
Binouze : the Wednesday night parties that take place in the Foyer
Foyer : the beating heart of student life, the foyer hosts the school bar as well as parties like the « pots » and the « binouzes ». You’ll find many leisure activities there (table-tennis, pool tables …) as well as the headquarters of most student associations
IP Paris : “Institut Polytechnique de Paris” is a public higher education and research institution that brings together five French engineering schools: École Polytechnique, ENSTA Paris, ENSAE Paris, Télécom Paris and Télécom SudParis.
MaD : « Make a Difference », the sustainable development student association
PACT : “Projet d’Apprentissage Collaboratif Thématique” is a group project in first year at Telecom Paris.
Plateau : refers to « le plateau de Saclay », the geographic zone where Télécom is located, as well as many other schools and businesses.
Pompoms : Télécom’s finest, aka the cheerleading team (mixed gender)
Pots : the highlights of Télécom’s student life, a « pot » is a huge party hosted by Télécom with a fun theme and open to surrounding schools. They take place on Friday evenings in the « foyer »
Rock : events that take place in the Foyer on Tuesday nights, starting off with classes to learn « rock » (a type of dance) and followed by a party
Skibidi : Famous Telecom Dance that you cannot entirely watch.
TSM : Télécom Sound & Magic, the amazing student association that will transform the foyer into the best nightclub in Palaiseau
WAN : the school restaurant (opens only for lunch) located within the campus
WEE : « Weekend à l’Etranger », this year it took place in Amsterdam (early November)
WEFA : « Weekend de Fin d’Année », was cancelled this year due to covid measures, but usually takes place in the South of France
WEI : « Weekend d’Intégration » (yet to be confirmed due to covid measures)
WES : « Weekend au Ski », the best time to learn how to ski or to show-off your best gravity-defying moves
